I wasn’t raised as a Christian. Even though I attended Christian schools, the Bible was never more than “just another book.” Faith seemed like a set of rules and regulations, and the Christians I knew appeared hypocritical. Why would I want any part of that? Even worse, I was told that God punishes immediately when doing something ‘wrong’.

At age 46, amidst difficulties, someone told me that Jesus was the answer. Although my mind was hesitant at first, thinking this "God thing" was all about harsh and restrictive rules, my heart was willing, and I decided to give my life to Christ. That choice became the best decision of my life. 

The journey hasn’t been perfect; I didn’t stop believing overnight that God punishes immediately and that religion is just a bunch of rules. It takes time to understand the real truth about God and His ways of living for us. 

Thankfully, I no longer live in despair or have suicidal thoughts. Through Christ, I am discovering healing, identity, and the truth that I am not alone and that I am worthy, worthy of life, love, and attention.

And here’s the truth: He wants to do the same for you, and even more!

 Amazing Grace™ was born from obedience to God’s call on my life. Its creation was not driven by any personal ambitions or professional identity as a counselor, therapist, or pastor. Instead, it simply comes from responding to His purpose and plan for my life.

He led me to create Amazing Grace™, Helpmeet in Action™, and A Whisper from Heaven™ because I understand what it feels like to be broken, unseen, unheard, desperate, and unwanted, with no place to belong, and to live with overwhelming guilt and shame. 

I understand how it is to stand on His promise for a restored marriage when everything around me shows there is no chance of reconciliation. But that’s what faith really looks like.

2 Corinthians 1 writes: 3 Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, 4 who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.

God has called me home, and now He is calling you home as well. He waits, arms open wide, inviting you to accept His invitation to become a child of God, to receive eternal life, and to allow Him to heal your pain and heart. Through Him, you can be loved and truly seen at last.
